Description:
Rome, Italy I went to the Borghese Gallery and marked in my Baedeker the most important things. The reclining figure of Paulne Bonaparte is an admirable statue. I admired vastly Domenchino's Cumean Sibyl. Its colors were very rich. Michel Angelo's Moses in the Church of St. Pietro in Vincolo made a strong impression on my mind. Scarcely got more than an impression of the Vatican collection and nearly broke my very neck in the Sistine Chapel without getting much notion of it. ::::::::: Feb. 22, 1906. - The days in Rome were all too short, of course, and we we went on to Florence with great reluctance.
