Description:
Kew royalty, a beautiful dining room in white, gorgeous servants and most excellent cuisine. Afterwards we went to His Majesty's Theatre, Haymarket, across the street. An amusing play of "frenchy" origin was on; fashion, wealth and fine-looking men were there. The women did not impress me altho the toilets were gorgeous enough and diamonds flashed all over the place. Next week we go to Scott's, a famous old restaurant at the top of the Haymarket for dinner and then to the Garrick Theatre for the Merchant of Venice. - Scratch a Russian and you'll find a Tartar. ::::::::: January 2, 1906 "Maw's callin' fromm the milk house, Callin stern: "Jim, yer lazy good fer nuthin', Come and churn." Paw's callin' from the corn patch Callin' loud: James, yer hulkin', stupid loafer, Time yer plowed." Nature's callin' from the trout-brook Callin' whish: "Son, yer poor tired lazy feller, Come and fish". Stranger if we just swapped places Put it clear Which of all the three a-callin Would you hear?
