The Union Lumber Co. has enough land to cut for fifty years at their present rate of milling The Big River Co. has enough for 45 years at their present rate. They began to cut in 1852. - Bishop Pine not milled here. Heart-wood very durable. Union Lumber Co. has filled a piling order with it. It makes a fine stand. "Ah if we could only grow Redwood like that says Mr. Johnson. So thick and straight and tall. If we ::::::::: June 26, 1903 could only grow Redwood so! - Rose Bay sends up stump sprouts after a fire. - Picked up a set of Tsuga heterophylla cones from the ground beneath a tree on the bank of the Noyo River -- smallest cone on any California tree.
