Eschscholtzia californica Cham. var. crocea Jepson. Marked plants, marked with plain iron stakes or spikes. For data see p. 45. - This trip to Vacaville primarily for the purpose of marking Eschscholtzia californica. It is threatening to rain momentarily, but I escape a wetting. The botanizing is good. The plants other than the poppies were from the Jewett and Hawkins fields east of Vacaville. The low fields were very gay indeed.
