Barstow -Castilleia plagiotoma Gray. no. 6133 cont form p.  173. Lower  lip of calyx densely white woolly,  clef into 2 elliptic lobes, the upper lip 2/3 as long,  cleft into 2 ovate acute lobes. Cor. very slender, the upper lip (galea) rather longer than the tube, the lower  lip of 3 minute teeth. Bract truncate with 2 slender lateral lobes (1 on each side).  The most striking part of this flower is the form and position of the wooly calyx.  :::::::::  May 30, 1914. - Lotus no. 6115 cont. from p. 170. Banner rather narrow, elliptic. Wings remarkable for being small and almost 2/3 the length of keel petals! Keel shorter than banner.  Calyx lobes subulate or lanceolate. No. 6150. Eshscholtzia Mesas at Barstow, 31 May  E. glyptosperma Greene.
