Chico Trees of the Rancho Chico Big Tree, circ. ground, 13 ft. circ. 4 ft., 9-10 ft. height = 85 ft. This tree stands near the entrance gate to the Rancho Chico mansion. Planted about 1868. Another tree: circ. ground 6 ft. circ. 4 ft. 4 - 6 ft. height 45 ft. The first tree stands near the street, the 2d small tree is on the main drive leading directly to the mansion house. On the J. R. Robinson place in town is a Redwood tree 16 ft. circ at ground, 11 ft. 4 in. at 4 ft. and height of 110 ft. It is a very fine Sequoia sempervirens!! ::::::::: May 31, 1910 Trees in the town: Monterey Cypress, a fine tall spreading tree: circ. ground, 15' - 2" circ. 5 ft. 10 - 9 height = 75 ft. This tree is on the sw. cor.[corner] Sycamore and 4th Sts. on grounds of Mrs. Somers directly on the street. There are many Monterey Cypress trees on the Rancho Chico home grounds, planted by the general.
