Olema, Marin Co. No. 4031. Sherardia arvensis. Corolla pale lavender, calyx rim very small and uneven. In pastures, abundant, in spots matting the ground closely. Stigmas 2. Tocaloma. - Orthocarpus = No 4041. Corolla sulphur yellow (rarely white), aging white, in come case the lips somewhat deflexed (in age) on tube and gaping widely. That is after changing color from sulphur yellow to white! I noticed this only on the plants whose flowers changed to white. I did not ::::::::: April 13, 1910. notice it on permanent yellow flowers. Its rather remarkable. No other Orthocarpus gapes so far as I know. Yet their ancestors gap! - See p. 67. - Anagalis arvensis in fl. Decumbent plants. - Shepherd's Needle, common near Tocaloma. No. 4032. Acer negundo var. californicum Sarg. Many large trees along Olema Creek on the valley flat. (Not Papermill Creek). No. 4033. Dicentra formosa DC. stamens 6, in 2 sets of 3 each or sometimes 1 free filament in each set.
