Berkeley. ---------- - Chenopodium fremontii. The dif. betw. this and C. album seems to come down to "pericarp readily separable from seed" in former and firm to seed in latter. We have no material which illustrates this point satisfactorily as to C. fremontii. Parish does not know of it from Cal. (see litt. Jan. '13). In Barrows' "Ethno.-Bot. of the Coahuilla Indians", p. 57, I am credited with having det. the species as on west. edge Colorado Desert. I have asked Miss Walker to see if any material from Barrows, of this species, could be found in Mus. or Herb. and she replies in negative. - Wislizenia palmeri not in Cal. acc.
