Berkeley - Teratology -- Solanum umbelliferum Esch, 1 flower from Strawberry Canon, detected in Bot. 3 material on Nov. 12, 1908 -- Stamens 8 = very distinct! Pistils 2, = style distinct and ovaries partly or wholly distinct! Corolla lobes = 7. Calyx lobes = 9 or perhaps better = 1 with 2 lobes 2-toothed. Material dried, in herb. ---------- - Evernia vulpina -- the deep yellow lichen of Sierra pine trees. ::::::::: 1908. ---------- - Red Oak, in Mendocino = Castanopsis chrysophylla!
