Is an old man (70 years). - Cercocarpus parvifolius = "Sweet Brush" say Lillis (west side of the San Joaquin at Rancho Cantua; "Hard Tack" on opposite side, in the Kaweah district. -- Sept. '08 ::::::::: Ukiah, June 14, 1908. - Colonel La Motte [?] says: On the way to the Fish Hatchery Trillium ovatum grows in masses. I have seen rods of it, white like a snow bank. It turns purplish or reddish in age.
