Title:
Jepson Field Book volume 18 page 118
Description:
Cypress Point to      Board-like Trunks. The twisting and turning back and forth is often extreme but it is mainly in one plane. Monterey Cypress. Cypress Pt. grove. [See image for drawing.] ::::::::: Pacific Grove, Aug 6, '08      Age of Monterey Cypress. Trees grow rapidly when young. I have no reason for thinking they do not grow as rapidly in the woods here as in cultivation.  I found one cut (sawed) log in Cypress Point woods. It was 2 feet in diameter and had 98 rings. Evidently the cut was near the base. Sawed in order to clear wagon road. Cut a long time and rings very indistinct.
