Description:
Wind-controlled Live Oak -- Pebble Beach to Cypress Point. [See image for drawing.] ::::::::: Cypress Point. Mar. 6, '08 - Monterey Cypress, trees extend from Cypress Point in a continuous belt as far as the sand hills where the shore turns sharply back from the ocean. There a lot of them, a tremendous lot in a long and narrow strip. They are right on the coast line and some distance back from the shore. I saw none further than about 1/5 of a mile, or scarcely that but I did not investigate the back woods, where Monterey Pine in dense stands press closely upon them. Right on the shore they are alone, back of it mixed with Monterey Pine.
