They are almost wholly Douglas Fir. I stopped at one store on Allston Way, Berkeley. The stock came from Oregon, ::::::::: Dec. 19, 1907.  _200.00 for a car-load from Glendale. He says a car came from Washington at _67.00 -- the difference = water competition. Roughly I should say half his trees were saplings. The ones taken from the tops showed it plainly. They were less slender and less symmetrical. There's no denying the saplings make beautiful trees.
