It fell off the cut and in such a way that it struck a Douglas Fir, snapped in two and the lower part went flat on the ground. Loss of the bark under side so great I stopped weighing. - Tree No. 27. Height = 79 feet  Diam. butt = 1 ft 4 1/2 in. at 3 ft. Peeled 37 1/2 feet  Diam. end rim = 10 in. Age = 83 years (quite distinct rings) Height = 79 feet. Two men 25 mins to peel. Bark at butt = 1 in. Poles 40 ft. high, 1 & 2 short rims taken. One pole to  right bark stuck. Poles 4 to 8 diam at 1 ft. 35 to 40 ft.h. No. 3. Two-ft tree at 4 ft., detail of bark with 9 trymarks  about tree No. 4. Sledding bark. Nearly 1 cord on sled. No 5. Taking first rim. Tree 3 ft 1 in. at 2 feet. 110 feet  high about. No 6. Undercut and back-cut. No 7. Peeling log. No 8. Unloading bark from sled. No. 9. Tangle down logs  Main cross log 80 feet peeled, 2 ft.  4 in. at butt, 1 1/2 ft. at 40 ft., 1 ft. at 80 ft. Three  other logs of similar size.
