Now, the capsule is obcompressed. That is the valve sutures are opposite the (upper & lower) calyx lobes. Now as the valves of the capsule turn from each other at apex they open most down the side bounded by the bract or rather lower calyx-lobe which is bract-like -- altho' the calyx bounds that side at base.
